Virtual Summer Designs Workshop (Sun, July 5, 1-2:30 pm EST)
In our Kinusaiga Workshop we will learn this stunning, little-known art form which gives scrap fabric a whole new life. Our July workshop features our Summer Fun Designs made in collaboration with Poppy + Paintbrush. Choose one or more design kits to make along with us during the live virtual workshop, or work at your own pace and follow recordings whenever the time suits you.
Combo offers are available for these designs! Each kit is $50, but if you order multiple designs, enter these codes for great savings. Limit one code per order.
2 designs: 15% off your order ($15 savings; use code SAVE15)
3 designs: get one free ($50 savings; use code FREESUMMER)
5 designs: 30% off your order ($75 savings; code SUMMERSET)
Shared will mail you a kit the week of the workshop with assorted fabric, embellishments like beads and thread, foam base, and selected design(s). You are welcome to use your own fabric scraps of course, but the essentials will be provided. You will also receive a Google Meet invite for the virtual workshop. For this workshop, you will also receive a digital download with all of the design files so you can make the others in the series!
During the workshop, you will make your kinusaiga art live with other attendees, guided by a Shared member. You will need a precision crafting knife, tape, seam ripper or similar thin tool to tuck fabric into the foam, and scissors (fabric scissors are best). We recommend a 4×6” shadow box or frame to display your finished work.
The workshop is a wonderful chance to connect with other makers, ask questions, share ideas, and feel boosted as you craft. While you can make your kit on your own, we encourage everyone to take the opportunity to engage live with other participants and our guide.
Shared uses donated and repurposed materials wherever possible. Individual patterns and colors may vary slightly from those shown but will still produce the desired final product.
After the workshop, a recording will be available on our YouTube channel with a link just for attendees to view. This way you can check back on any pointers you missed or parts you need a refresher on, at any time. We also link these videos for our Members- another perk that comes with membership!
