Join a global wave of 35 craft events across eight countries this June by joining our World's Largest Craft Club workshop at Merry Pin on Sunday, June 28 from 2 pm-4 pm.

Customize special event tote bags, swap stickers with other craft clubs from around the world, and most importantly, connect in person with others while spending time engaged in a hands on, unique activity.

The event is located at Merry Pin, an independent craft store, cafe, coffee shop, bar, and community space. It was recently named Retail Business of the Year by the DC Chamber of Commerce and DC Department of Small and Local Business Development.

The DC gathering is one of 35 creative events taking place around the world on the same weekend. Shared founder Lindsey Joerger explains, "This global effort had to have a DC-based event! Right away I knew Merry Pin was the ideal location for us. From inclusion and reuse to community and coffee, I love everything about Merry Pin."

Brisbane, Australia-based junk journaling magazine owner, Nicky Cain, enlisted fellow workshop hosts to participate in the World's Largest Craft Club weekend to celebrate real life connections on a global scale.

“[We are] part of an international network founded by New York’s Meagan Mahaffy [ArtGurl]. Through the power of crafts, we are bringing communities together all around the world to celebrate off-line connections.”

The event taps into a growing global shift toward offline, community-based experiences in an increasingly digital age.

At host venue Merry Pin, attendees can grab a drink and snack in the first floor cafe, shop the wonderful retail selection of both new and reuse goods, and then head upstairs to the community crafting space for the World's Largest Craft Club workshop.

Guests are invited to come solo or with friends from 2 pm-4 pm. Shared and Merry Pin provide the event tote bags and embellishment materials from new and creative reuse craft supplies. Participants can bring their own supplies for embroidery, painting, journaling, beading, or other portable crafts as well.
